Mr. February.
I am back from Boracay. It was my second time to go to the island and I can definitely say that I had more fun this time around than when I first went there less than two years ago. We stayed there for four days and three nights, which was just enough fun to explore the island, have the rest that I very much deserved and have fun under the sun and on sand and sea..
The best thing about the trip, other than the fact that I was able to relax my mind and body and had a respite from work and family, is that I got laid. Twice. I will write them down as separate posts. They are both worth writing about.
.

The first time I went to Boracay, it was all about falling in love with the place. The beautiful beach, the finest sand, the heat of the sun, the smiles of the natives and the intermingling of people from all walks of life treating each other as equal. It was the nearest I have ever been to being in paradise. Then, simply being able to lie under the sun or play with the waves was enough for me. I was not at all interested in exploring the night life.
.
This time, I still love the place but I was not as intoxicated with its beauty as the first time. Participating in the night life in the island was very much in my agenda. I guess this is what naturally happens to people who are undersexed. He he.

On the plane ride back, I was already thinking of what to blog about once I opened my computer. Definitely, I'd like to write about the two times that I got laid in Boracay. Those were highlights of my vacation. But I also knew that they would take long to write, as I intend to note down the details of each night. For posterity's sake.
.
I needed something short to write about. I anticipated that my in-tray at work must be filled to the brim. I would hardly have time, though I'd love to, to blog.
.

So for today, while still drafting my Boracay sexcapades, I have decided to name my second Mr. Month. For February, I am honoring Taylor Kitsch (Must Blow 48), aka Tim Riggins, as my Man of the Month. He follows male model Tyler Lough who was hailed last month.
.
Taylor Kitsch is the single most compelling reason why watching Friday Night Lights on Thursday nights has become a weekly habit for me. Sure, the series has a intelligent storyline and is well-directed but the slow pace sometimes tends to bore me. The only reason why I have stayed from turning the channel during commercials or a dry dramatic scene is the possibility that I would not be able to glimpse the next shot of Taylor. .
I really don't care about American football. I appreciate it as much as Americans have passion for soccer or hockey. I have watched a lot of games over ESPN and movies (Remember the Titans, Jerry Maguire, Any Given Sunday, etc.) but still the sport never excited me. So, really, I am also not excited by the scenes in FNL when the Panthers meet their opponents. The show can skip these scenes and they will not hear me complain.
.
I stay for the drama. The young high school kids trying to face the challenges of growing up ---the pressure of their peers, the allure of sex, the demands of their parents and community, the challenge or boredom of school, success and underachievement, the conflicts that arise when all these factors concur.
.

Of course, I stay for Taylor Kitsch and Tim Riggins, his character. He is one of the sexiest actors ---and his is one of the most enigmatic characters--- on television today. Taylor doesn't even need to move, act or utter any dialogue. The camera just has to pan or focus on him and the shot is already well worth it. He is sexy, beautiful and handsome. What else must he do but be?
.
About two weeks ago, I heard news that FNL is on its way to being cancelled by NBC. The show, despite earning critical success and boasting a cast of hunks led by Kitsch, Kyle Chandler, Zach Gilford and Scott Porter, is not doing well in the ratings. I was a bit saddened by the news when I heard it on the radio. However, I am confident that the cancellation of FNL will not be the end of Kitsch's career. He will definitely be able to crossover to a career in the big screen. This early, imdb has already confirmed that Taylor will be playing the role of Remy Le Beau (aka the mutant Gambit) in Wolverine: The Origins. The movie, which will star Hugh Jackman, is due theaters in 2009. .
