Mr. January.

I was driving earlier today and planning my day on the road. What I would do at work, what I'll have for lunch and what to add in my blog journal. I could not think of a topic to write today but then I looked at my passenger seat and there was Tyler Lough giving me attitude from the cover of the last September issue of Genre.

Two words came to mind at that moment: Mister January. Really? I thought, why not? After all, of all the guys I fantasized about in the first month of 2008, no one tops my admiration for Tyler. I even declared him my absentee boyfriend in a prior blog (Fresh Meat, January 25).

And so out of nowhere I am inaugurating a new portion in my blog. I welcome my first Mr. Month, my Mr. January, Tyler Lough.

As usual, I have been trying to beef up my collection of Tyler's photo. There aren't many in the internet and so I have to be more diligent and resourceful in my search.

It wasn't only Tyler, though, whom I considered for this positively empty title. I shortly ran through some nominees and only James Marsden offered real competition.

Marsden is one of the more visible actors in the past months. I've seen two of his latest films, Enchanted and 27 Dresses. I liked his performances in both movies. He was absolutely comical in the first and convincingly reinvented in the second. It is good that he has broken out of the comicbook hero mold and that he is able to cast himself in a wider range of roles --- even if it means romantic comedies.

I am also relieved that Marsden is making a movie without the collaboration of Bryan Singer. After Superman Returns, I was already suspecting whether the actor and the gay director have anything going on. It is Hollywood, after all, where every relationship is possible, so my suspicion is not totally unfounded.

Must Blow (# 34) boy Zac Efron is the chosen one for this month's edition of Details.

I read the profile/interview on the web site of the magazine, details.com, which I periodically visit. I am very impressed with the article. The author did not kiss the ass of the young Hollywood star but showed genuine surprise at how real and grounded Efron remains, in the face of the instant fame he is experiencing after High School Musical's phenomenal success.

Efron talked about his bouts with the paparazzi and how he adjusted to the situation. His neighbors hated the paparazzi for taking too much of the free parking space in the neighborhood. His dad teased Zac for the shirtless beach photos that suddenly surfaced on tabloids, teen magazines and the internet.

The subject of gay rumors, courtesy of the riffraff Perez Hilton, was briefly discussed. In reply, Zac said: “Honestly, if the worst he can say about me is that I’m gay, then I think I’ll be fine. I can handle it.”

Nice quote.

And with this attitude, I can say that Zac will do just fine in Hollywood and that he'll be able to handle all the temptations that this lifestyle would hurl him.

I did buy one magazine this week. New porn issues are hard to come by and so I settled for an old issue of Freshmen. I got its February 2005 issue with young porn actor Tristan Adonis on the cover and centerfold.

At first glance, one would suspect that Tristan belongs to the stable of Bel Ami, the porn powerhouse that made young Eastern Eurpean hunks household names. Well, I mean gay households. But Tristan is all-American. He is the younger brother of another delicious porn staple, Jason Adonis.

How does it feel to be in the porn industry with your brother? It doesn't seem to bother Tristan and Jason. Though they haven't made a scene together (which, I think will resurrect the "taboo" series that was very popular in the 1980s and give it the gay twist), they do collaborate in the same films.
